Warlord's Ruin

Nestled deep in the mountains of the EDZ, Scorn lay claim to a Dark Age castle containing dangerous relics, and a blighted vengeance festers in the dirt.

Warlord's Ruin is a dungeon in Destiny 2 on Earth. You can run it with up to 3 players. It comes in 2 versions: Standard, Master. This page lists every weapon that drops here, plus all triumphs and challenges.

Warlord’s Ruin dungeon guide

Warlord’s Ruin opened on December 1, 2023, in Season of the Wish. Up to three players climb into a Dark Age castle in the mountains of the European Dead Zone, where the Scorn are digging up Ahamkara bones. You start it through Ikora’s quest “In the Shadow of the Mountain”, and access needs Lightfall with its annual pass or the Lightfall Dungeon Key. There’s a Master mode too.

1. Rathil, First Broken Knight of Fikrul

Cleanse the corrupted Ether Totems by standing in their circles while the Imminent Wish timer runs. Players get trapped in cages that slowly rise: shoot the three Blighted Eyes to open yours, and help your teammates with theirs. Getting impaled or letting a cage reach the top wipes you. When Imminent Wish ends, you get Naeem’s Wish Empowerment, and the more totems you cleansed, the longer it lasts. That’s your damage window.

2. The prison puzzle

Six cog dials. One shot makes a dial spin counter-clockwise, the next stops it, and the next makes it spin clockwise. Tally marks by two skeletons tell you how many dials should spin each way. Shoot the lock when they’re set and the cells open.

3. Locus of Wailing Grief

Shooting the Eyes starts Imminent Wish and brings in Broken Knights, which drop totems. Cleansing totems builds up Biting Cold, and ten stacks freeze you to death. The torches at the back of the arena give Shelter From The Storm, which clears it. Every totem you cleanse gives a Solar Charge when the timer ends, and you use those to light the four braziers. Once they’re lit, you can only damage the boss while standing at a lit brazier, so rotate as they burn out.

4. Hefnd’s Vengeance

The final boss is a blighted Chimaera. Shooting Eyes spawns Broken Knights with totems, as before. Watch out for Hex of Vengeful Corruption: if you’re holding it when the timer runs out, you die. Pass it on by meleeing a Corrupted Hex-Drinker, but they can pass it back. Damage again comes from Naeem’s Wish Empowerment when Imminent Wish ends. Each time you hit the damage threshold the boss moves up a floor, three in all. On the top floor there are three floating platforms and each one is used up once you stand on it. Shooting Eyes extends damage, and the final stand has no time limit.

Buried Bloodline

Buried Bloodline, a Void sidearm, is a random drop from Hefnd’s Vengeance, one chance per character per week. Bungie hasn’t published a drop rate. Its catalyst comes from puzzles in the dungeon. The full loot table is below.
