Deep Stone Crypt raid guide

Deep Stone Crypt launched on November 21, 2020, with Beyond Light. Six Guardians start out in a blizzard on Europa and end up on the Morning Star station, fighting the Fallen of the House of Salvation. The raid is built around three augments that players pass between them: the Operator, the Scanner and later the Suppressor. Learn what each one does in the first encounter and the rest of the raid makes a lot more sense.

Opening: Desolation

Travel by Sparrow or Pike from one heat bubble to the next. Outside a bubble you build up Frostbite, and ten stacks will kill you. The last bubble is guarded by enemies, so clear them and move on.

1. Crypt Security

Split into two teams of three, one in the Light room and one in the Dark room. The Operator (red augment) heads down to the basement and shoots the panels there; only the Operator can use them. The Scanner (yellow augment) looks through the glass floor and calls out which panels are glowing. There are two per side, four in total.

Augments move between rooms through terminals, and each player and terminal holds only one augment at a time. Sentinel Servitors lock the terminals, so kill them. Once all four panels are shot, the damage phase begins: the Scanner calls out which of the fuses is lit, and the team shoots it. Shoot the wrong fuse and the team wipes.

2. Atraks-1, Fallen Exo

One team of three works up on the station, the other down in the Crypt. The Scanner finds the real, glowing Atraks clone, and the team kills it. That clone leaves behind the Atraks-1 Replication debuff, which runs on a timer and kills its holder when it expires.

The Operator opens the airlocks and shoots debuff holders so they can get rid of it, and the debuff gets blown out into space through the airlock. Don’t get sucked out with it. There’s no separate damage phase: Atraks takes damage from the correct clones being killed. Near the end, all clones are out in space, and Scanners call them out one after another in quick succession.

3. The space walk

Between Atraks-1 and the next encounter you cross the outside of the station. It’s a jumping section with no mechanic, just a lot of empty space to fall into.

4. Descent: Taniks, Reborn

No damage phase here, just a nuclear-core puzzle while the station comes down. A third augment joins the team: the Suppressor (blue).

  • The Operator shoots the red panel to release the Nuclear Cores.
  • The Scanner calls out which bins are open.
  • The Suppressor shoots Taniks while standing under each of the three drones to stun him, and only then can cores be deposited.
  • Carrying a core builds Radiation. Ten stacks kill you, so pass the cores between players.
  • Depositing a core disables your augment, so swap at a terminal afterwards.

When enough cores are in, a hatch opens. Drop down and run. Taniks kills anyone he catches, and the station crashes either way.

5. Taniks, the Abomination

Split into three pairs, one per area. During his laser barrage, shoot the glowing thrusters on Taniks’s wings to make him drop cores. The Scanner calls out which bins are active, and a wrong bin means death. The Operator frees players trapped in purple spheres, and the Suppressor stuns Taniks from the three drones so deposits can happen.

Shortly after the fourth core is deposited, damage starts. Stand between the two arc rings and unload. At 25% health the final stand begins: Taniks teleports around the arena, and failing to kill him wipes the team. Radiation is still in play the whole time, so keep passing cores.

Challenges

  • Red Rover (Crypt Security): every player takes the Operator once and shoots two panels.
  • Copies of Copies (Atraks-1): beat Atraks-1 without sending any Replication debuff into the airlocks.
  • Of All Trades (Descent): a challenge about using all three augments.
  • The Core Four (Taniks, the Abomination): release all four cores in one go and deposit all four before damage.

Completing a challenge gives you the triumph and an extra chest, and the raid’s triumphs count toward the Descendant title.

Eyes of Tomorrow

The raid exotic, Eyes of Tomorrow, is a Solar rocket launcher. It only drops from the chest after Taniks, the Abomination, with one chance per character per week, and completing the raid’s triumphs improves your odds. The full loot table is below.
