Salvation’s Edge raid guide

Salvation’s Edge launched with The Final Shape on June 7, 2024, and takes your fireteam of six inside the Traveler for the final showdown with the Witness. It has a reputation as one of the hardest raids Bungie has made, and for good reason: almost every encounter is built on the same shape-matching system and gets a little more twisted each time. Learn the basics in the first room and the rest of the raid makes a lot more sense.

The core mechanic: Resonance and Conductors

Throughout the raid, players stand on paired plates and bounce a pulse back and forth. Every clean bounce gives Resonance. Collect three stacks and you can lock a Conductor, one of the pillars around the room. Miss a bounce and a Subjugator spawns, which you have to kill before you can try again.

A team-wide timer called The Final Shape Looms is always ticking. Depositing Resonance adds time, and when it hits zero the whole team wipes. That timer is the real boss of most encounters.

1. Substratum

Deposit Resonance in the central box to open the doors and start the timer. The team splits into two groups of three and works through the rooms around the middle, clearing Hydras along the way. Each group runs into an Overload Champion, and once those are handled a Tormentor appears in the middle.

Inside each group, one player stands on the active plate, one waits in the room with the Conductor, and one clears adds. Watch your stacks: you can carry three Resonance, and picking up a fourth kills you. Locking Conductors also spawns a Subjugator in the middle, so keep someone ready for it.

2. Dissipation: the Herald of Finality

Now there are two types of Resonance: Spherical and Pyramidal. Picking up a new type converts your whole stack, so don’t grab the wrong one by accident. Split into three pairs (left, middle and right) and shoot the middle Blight to begin. Each lane has a miniboss to deal with.

One player per lane is pulled down into the pit and gets Call to Reckoning. Only those players can hurt the Herald. Their headshots spawn three Blights; destroy them, crack the head, and you get Stolen Favor, which shows which shape each Conductor wants. Lock all three Conductors with the right Resonance, deposit at the box in the middle for extra time, and start damage. Repeat until the Herald falls, and save some timer for the final stand.

3. Repository

Repository is a climb through three floors, each with three Conductors, and it adds a third Resonance shape: the Hexahedral cube. On each floor, kill the Tormentor; whoever lands the final blow gets Stolen Favor and can read which shape each Conductor needs. Lock them all, deposit, then take down the Unstoppable Incendior that appears to open the door to the next floor. Kill the Incendior on the third floor and you are through.

4. Verity

Verity is the famous brain-melter. Three players are locked in separate rooms Inside, while three stay Outside. Everything revolves around 2D shapes (triangle, circle, square) that combine into 3D shapes. Two circles make a sphere, two squares a cube, two triangles a tetrahedron, and mixed pairs make a cylinder, cone or prism.

  • Inside: each player reads the shapes from the statues and the shadows on the wall (turn shadows on in your settings), passes shapes between rooms using the Knights, builds the 3D shape they need and walks out through the glass.
  • Outside: one player, the “dissector”, picks up shapes from Knights and places them on the statues to swap the 2D parts. Each Outside statue must end up as the 3D shape made of the two shapes its Inside player does not hold.
  • Ghost phase: the Witness takes the Inside players’ lives, and the team must place the right Ghost on the right statue. A wrong Ghost kills that player. Wearing easy-to-recognise Ghost shells helps a lot.

5. The Witness (Zenith)

The final fight splits the team into two sides, each with a runner and two players clearing adds. The Witness attacks with its arms, and each attack leaves a different Resonance: circles give Spherical, triangles give Pyramidal and the beam attacks give Hexahedral. The bracelet colour tells you what is needed: yellow means Spherical, green Pyramidal and red Hexahedral.

  1. Shoot a bracelet to see its colour.
  2. Collect the matching Resonance by standing in that attack.
  3. Shoot the bracelet again. The arm withers and you get Glyphbreaker.
  4. From the pool of light on the central island, shoot the glyphs on the Witness. The pool also cleanses your Resonance. Breaking glyphs together means fewer Subjugators spawn.

Between rounds, “The Witness tests you”: a grid of Cruxes appears and you have to shoot away the extras so the remaining ones form the shape of the last arm you broke. Get it wrong and the team wipes; get it right and jump over the shockwave that follows. Once all six glyphs are gone the platform rises, a crit spot opens on the chest and damage begins. Jump over the slams, and get off the platform the moment it starts to drop. The final stand is short and unforgiving, so save Supers for it.

Challenges

  • Touch and Go (Substratum): no one may get a second Resonance stack before everyone has one.
  • Changing Tactics (Dissipation): Conductors may only be locked with Resonance from the other wing.
  • Singular Torment (Repository): only one player may kill the Tormentors.
  • Equal Distribution (Verity): never deposit on the same statue twice in a row.
  • Careful Calculation (Witness): no player may go above two stacks of any Resonance.

Master difficulty has its own set of challenges, and clearing the raid’s triumphs earns the Iconoclast title.

Euphony

The raid exotic, Euphony, is a Strand Linear Fusion Rifle that spawns Threadlings when you keep hitting the same target. It only drops from the Witness as a random reward, with every copy rolling the same perks. Bungie hasn’t shared the drop rate, but raid triumphs improve your chances. The full loot table is below.
