Blighted Chalice is a Grimoire card from the original Destiny (Destiny 1), found under Activities → Strikes. Grimoire cards held most of the game's lore and were read on Bungie.net and in the companion app, not in the game itself.
Card text
“The Taken King is dead. Yet still his armies writhe and claw at our worlds. Even as you led the assault on the Dreadnaught, a powerful Taken warbeast fled for the safety of the Shrine to Oryx. The would-be Prince Malok works to perfect a dark sorcery. He must be destroyed.” - Eris Morn
Grimoire text written by Bungie, shown as it appears in the Destiny 1 game files.
