Whisper of the Worm is an Exotic Sniper Rifle in Destiny 2 that deals Solar damage from the Power slot and uses heavy ammo. What makes it special is its intrinsic perk, White Nail. Its perk pool includes Mulligan, Field Prep, No Distractions, Enlightened Action. Where to get it: Exotic Archive at the Tower. This weapon can be crafted.

How to get Whisper of the Worm

Whisper of the Worm, the Solar heavy sniper rifle, comes from The Whisper, an exotic mission that starts in the Lost Oasis on Io. It’s free to play. The mission was reprised with Into the Light in 2024.

Current method: the Monument of Triumph update (9.7.0, June 9, 2026) added The Whisper to the Pinnacle Ops. The old quest was retired, and the exotic now drops when you complete the mission.

What the mission looks like

A long jumping section with moving platforms.
Taken combat rooms, where you break a blight after each one.
Three Taken bosses freed from Vex prisons: Urzok, Drevis and Ta’aurc.
A final fight against Tulgorh, Aspect of Agony, added in the reprise.

You get 40 minutes on Normal and 20 minutes on the harder difficulty, so learn the jumps before you try the tougher version.
